Chuck Piccuta
Chuck Piccuta is of counsel for Scottsdale Injury Lawyers, LLC and has practiced law for over 40 years. He is a former naval officer and JAG attorney and has also worked in private practice as well as the public sector. He has tried numerous cases to verdict and has encountered thousands of legal issues in his four decades of practice.
Chuck was born and raised in the Midwest where he was a stellar athlete. He attended Northwestern University in Illinois on a full-ride athletic scholarship for football. He then graduated with highest honors and received an academic scholarship to Northwestern University, School of Law in Chicago. While there, he was a member of the prestigious Northwestern University Law Review and graduated with honors.
Upon graduation, Chuck enlisted in the United States Navy where he was commissioned as an officer in the Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps. As an officer in JAG he proudly represented his country and tried many cases early in his career. He was trial counsel stationed at the Naval Legal Services Office at Treasure Island, San Francisco Naval Base until he was honorably discharged. Upon discharge he worked for a San Francisco law firm representing private clients and obtained favorable settlements and verdicts during that time.
After more than ten years in private practice, Chuck returned to public service taking a position at the San Luis Obispo County Superior Court where he worked as a research attorney. Chuck was well respected by the judges there and was promoted to a full-time judge pro-tempore position for five years. During this time, he presided over the civil law and motion calendar and issued several decisions that were later affirmed upon review by the California Court of Appeals. In 1995, Chuck was nominated by Governor Pete Wilson for an appointment to an open judge seat on the Superior Court. Although, his appointment was not finalized, he continued to work for the Superior Court until 2012.
Upon leaving the Superior Court, Chuck joined his son, Charles Tony Piccuta (Founder of Scottsdale Injury Lawyers, LLC), in private practice. In 2017, Chuck bought a place in Scottsdale which he now considers home. Chuck now lends his forty years of legal experience to Scottsdale Injury Lawyers, LLC.
